FS98 Fokker F28 Fellowship PH_MOL Air UK
***********************************************************************************************
In the 1980s Air UK started a Glasgow to Amsterdam service. Since most of their services at that time were operated by F27s and Heralds, they obviously thought they should get something a bit better for this first international service. So old PH-MOL, the third F28 off the production line, and a veteran of many other airlines and colour schemes was leased from Fokker to start the service. A smart new colour scheme was introduced, and the service was a great success. When Air UK eventually got a British registered aircraft for the service (a BAC1-11 (G-AXOX), I seem to recall), it was painted into the same scheme. But then along came the 146, and another, nicer, blue scheme was adopted and no other aircraft was seen with the wavy red and blue stripes.
TECHNICAL NOTES

This is a pretty old model, but I think it looks not bad. The tail is a bit too big, and the
airbrakes are a bit too small, but it looks quite convincing. It doesnt take to being animated very well, but it flies quite nicely. I've repainted it from the excellent Martinair model of the same aircraft, but apart from the engine intakes, the wheels and the wings, everything has been re-done. I've also animated it, but I've had to adopt a rather weird sequencing of the main gear to avoid the undercarriage coming up through the wings. Finally, I've speeded up spoiler deployment (although its still slower than the real thing) and cut spoiler drag by half, which I think is more realistic. There is no reverse thrust on this plane!

I intend to do the same aircraft in Air Anglia colours - possibly as my last FS98 aircraft.
I've ordered FS2002!owever, if you want more FS98 planes, just ask me and I might do it.

CREDITS

Repainted from Thomas Diderich's excellent Martinair example of the same aircraft- original design by Bill Alderson and Rob Bennis. Thanks to all of them, to Chuck Dome for the excellent TEXBMP2, and to Abacus Software for Aircraft Animator.

LEGAL NOTES

This aircraft model is an enhancement for Microsoft's Flight Simulator 98. It is
Freeware and must not be sold under any circumstances, either singly or as part of
any software package whatsoever. All the various elements of the model are the
copyright of the creator of that element, who has agreed to its free distribution
as part of this file only.
In particular the repaint is my copyright and I will not give permission for
my work to be sold.

NOTE: Nothing in this zip file will harm your computer; however, by installing the plane
you accept the risk.

INSTALLATION

Unzip the file (using Winzip or similar) into a temporary folder or, at your own
discretion, straight into the AIRCRAFT folder of FS98. I have tested it with Winzip v.7,
and it zipped staight in. If you are not confident that your unzipping software will keep the stored folders intact, use a temporary folder, and create the aircraft file as follows:-
put all the .AF files in a new folder called 'texture'(without the inverted commas)
put all the mdl.files, PLUS the notepad or Word file called 'model' in a new folder
        called 'model'
put the notepad or Word file called 'panel' in a new folder called 'panel'
put the notepad or Word file called 'sound'in a new folder called 'sound'
delete the file called FILE_ID - you dont need it any more
delete the image files for the same reason
	make a new folder called 'Air UK F28' and put everything inside it;
then put this folder into the AIRCRAFT folder of FS98. Start FS98 and the aircraft
      should be there!
Look for a panel and sounds - there must be suitable ones out there somewhere.

      Have fun flying!
